ASC Support Assistant - Birkenhead

Location: Birkenhead (CH41)
Salary: £13.75 - £14.50 (per hour)
Hours: 8.30am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday
We are currently partnered with a local School in the Birkenhead area that are looking for an experienced member of Support Staff to join them on a temporary basis, with the potential for this to become a permanent position for the suitable candidate.
The role itself will involve supporting several KS1 children with ASC and complex needs, including aspects of behavioural challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with ASC and additional needs.
- Implement strategies to manage behaviour and encourage participation.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and SENCO to deliver personalised learning plans.
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to staff and parents.
- Foster a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment for all pupils.
Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children with ASC and behavioural needs.
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
