Art and Design Technology Teacher at an SEMH School in Littlehampton

Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Art and Design Technology Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and inspiring lessons in both Art and Design Technology to students aged 9-16. This role requires someone with experience in secondary teaching, a strong background in Art and Design Technology, and preferably, prior experience working with SEMH students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Art and Design Technology lessons that cater to the diverse needs of SEMH students.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to express their creativity and develop practical skills.
  • Differentiate teaching methods and resources to accommodate various learning styles and abilities within the classroom.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant academic qualifications in Art and Design Technology.
  • Proven experience teaching Art and/or Design Technology at the secondary level
  • Experience working with students with social, emotional, and mental health needs is highly desirable.
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies and resources to meet the individual needs of SEMH students, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
  • Commitment to promoting safeguarding and ensuring the well-being of all students in accordance with school policies and procedures.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
