Art Teacher Opportunity- Balsall Common/Coventry (CV7)

Are you a passionate and qualified teacher of Art? We have an exciting full time position commencing in September 2025.

 

Pay: To Scale

Hours: Full Time, term-time only (Mon-Fri)

Location: Mainstream secondary school, CV7

Start Date: September 2025

 

Ideal applicant specification

- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification

- Experience teaching Art within a UK secondary school

- Excellent behaviour management skills and a strong classroom presence

- Fantastic subject knowledge and awareness of the national curriculum

- Genuine passion for art education and supporting children's learning

- Previous experience teaching children with special educational needs

- Enhanced, child-only DBS on update service (or willing to obtain one)

 

Roles and responsibilities

- Plan a range of Art lessons to various year groups- ensuring you differentiate sessions to suit individual needs

- Encourage creativity, experimentation, and self-expression among students of all abilities

- Plan and co-ordinate art displays to showcase students hard work- encouraging them to take pride in their work

- Create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment where students can express themselves freely through their art work

- Manage classroom behaviour effectively- setting expectations early to create a calm and safe classroom

- Maintain a committed stance to safeguarding, prioritising pupils' & staff's health, safety and well-being at all times

- Assess and monitor pupil progress and provide them with insightful feedback to support with their learning
