Art & Photography Teacher

Job description

An SEN school in Blandford Forum is looking for an Art & Photography teacher to join the teaching staff on a long term basis.

The required applicant will hold:

  • QTS
  • A degree within the realm of Art or a related subject is desirable.  
  • Experience in delivering high quality Art and Photography lessons

Aspects of this role:

  • Being able to manage behaviour expectations in line with school policy, as well as work in line with recommendations made by Ofsted.
  • Have a good understanding of SEMH especially Anxiety
  • Be able to teach small groups 
  • Managing any pastoral issues that may arise.
  • Deliver feedback on overall student progress/attainment, to other teaching staff/senior leaders and parents whenever necessary.
  • Working with students on both an individual and group basis.

The position will start in September 2020.

Additionally, it is essential that the required individual:

  • Is able to successfully differentiate work set.
  • Has experience working with SEMH 
  • Can offer alternatives to students who may struggle in applying themselves to specific tasks.
  • Is extremely well versed when it comes to delivering national curriculum.

The school:

The school is a Pupil Referral Unit which provides education for those pupils who have been permanently excluded from mainstream school. The school offers an alternative to mainstream school for students within a geographically defined zone. They provide a flexible, individual package of education which reflects the interests of the student.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
