About the School

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with an independent specialist school based in Thetford, Norfolk, that supports up to 23 children aged between 6 and 17. The school provides a therapeutic and child-focused education for young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, often alongside Autism, ADHD, and a range of communication or learning difficulties.

The school takes a trauma-informed and attachment-aware approach, ensuring all staff receive tailored training and ongoing professional support. The team is highly collaborative, working closely with therapists, families, and local authorities to secure the best possible outcomes for every learner.


The Role

We are seeking a passionate and adaptable Art & Design Technology Teacher (including Food Technology) to join a small, dedicated team. The successful candidate will deliver creative, engaging lessons across Key Stage 2 to GCSE, adapting content to meet each student’s individual learning journey.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a nurturing, small-school environment where relationships are key and where teaching goes far beyond the classroom. You’ll be supported by skilled teaching assistants and a leadership team who value innovation, empathy, and high expectations for every child.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Can plan and deliver a broad and creative Art & Design Technology curriculum

  • Understands the needs of children with SEMH and/or SEND

  • Brings energy, patience, and resilience to every day

  • Values building positive, trusting relationships with students
