We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Art and Design Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive secondary school community in Wigan.   • Start Date: 1st September
  • Ongoing/long-term with opportunity for permanent contract
  • Opportunity to earn £30,000 to £40,000 (dependent on payscale)

The Role:

  • Deliver inspiring and effective lessons in Art and Design to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Develop creative curriculum plans that engage students and promote critical thinking.
  • Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall learning experience.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and school events to enrich students’ artistic experiences.

Person Specification:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Art and Design with the ability to teach a broad range of media and techniques.
  • Experience teaching at secondary school level is preferred but not essential (ECT’s are encouraged to apply)
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • A passion for inspiring young people and fostering creativity.
  • Commitment to professional development and teamwork.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
