TPTutors are seeking an Alternative Provision English tutor, to work within Secondary schools across Leeds and surrounding areas.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with TPTutors and alternative provision students who struggle to access the mainstream curriculum and could be, without suitable intervention at risk of exclusion.

The successful tutor will have experience in delivering quality teaching in English from the National Curriculum to small groups or 1 to 1. It is essential that you are determined to make a difference to our students while being confident and compassionate.

Main purpose of the job:

  • Tutor in English with pupils from KS3 and KS4
  • To work with pupils within an alternative provision setting
  • Play a vital role in supporting students with SEMH needs, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting students' social, emotional, and mental well-being.
  • Support students in managing their behaviour, implementing strategies and techniques to de-escalate challenging situations.
  • Help students develop independent learning skills and foster their self-confidence.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
