Job description

SEN Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are working with a specialist primary and secondary SEN provision in the Kirkham area to recruit committed SEN Teaching Assistants for adhoc work. This role is well suited to someone with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs, including ASD, SEMH, ADHD or learning difficulties. The setting provides a supportive and structured environment, focusing on individual needs, emotional wellbeing and positive outcomes for pupils.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, assist with learning activities, and help manage behaviour in line with school policies. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to help pupils access the curriculum and develop both academically and socially.

Requirements for the role include:
• Experience working with children or young people with SEN or additional needs
• A patient, caring and resilient approach
• Ability to build positive relationships and support emotional regulation
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
