Active Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

Secondary Pupil Referral Unit - Eastleigh - Via Teaching Personnel

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a small secondary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Eastleigh to recruit an Active Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs.

This is a rewarding but demanding role, ideal for someone who is confident, resilient, and able to manage challenging behaviour. The school is very small, meaning you’ll work closely with pupils and staff, building strong and meaningful relationships.

The Role

  • Supporting secondary-aged pupils throughout the school day

  • Working both onsite and offsite, taking pupils out for structured activities such as bowling, football, and other enrichment sessions

  • Providing emotional and behavioural support, whether that involves comforting pupils, encouraging them, or actively joining in with activities

  • Acting as a calm, consistent role model and helping pupils regulate their behaviour

The Ideal Candidate

  • Confident and calm when supporting challenging behaviour

  • Resilient, patient, and able to build positive relationships

  • Happy to work offsite and be physically active

  • Experience within PRU, SEMH, or similar settings is beneficial but not essential

Hours, Pay & Location

  • Monday to Friday

  • 8:30am – 3:30pm

  • Term-time only

  • £13.75 per hour

  • Based in Eastleigh, with easy access via public transport

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
