Full-Time | Key Stage 3 & 4 | Permanent Opportunity via Teaching Personnel

Teaching Personnel is seeking a talented and dedicated Second in English to join a thriving secondary school in Basingstoke from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a leadership role and shape the delivery of English across the school, working alongside a supportive Head of Department and committed SLT.
About the Role:

Take on a key leadership position within the English department
-
Support curriculum planning, delivery, and assessment across KS3 and KS4
-
Assist with staff mentoring, departmental development, and whole-school literacy initiatives
-
Model outstanding teaching and learning with a focus on high standards and engagement
-
Work collaboratively to maintain a strong team ethos and continue driving improvement
Ideal Candidate:
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong track record of teaching English at secondary level
-
Proven ability to raise attainment and deliver high-quality lessons
-
Some leadership experience or a readiness to step into middle leadership
-
Strong understanding of curriculum design, data analysis, and inclusive pedagogy
-
A team player with a clear vision for promoting excellence in English
