1:1 Teaching Assistant role
Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
Teaching Personnel are working with a specialist school in Lymington that caters for pupils with a diagnosis of Asperger's Syndrome and other associated difficulties on the Autistic Spectrum. They are currently looking to fill 3 Teaching Assistant positions.
These roles will involve a significant amount of 1:1 work with individual pupils. Therefore, they are looking for candidates that are patient, proactive and personable.
Also, a previously home tutored pupil requires more tailored support to enable him to get back into the school environment. Therefore, we are looking for someone who is experienced, resilient and able to take initiative to adjust timetables to suit the pupil's needs, as well as creating new tasks and think outside the box where necessary.
Other desirable skills:
- Understanding of special educational needs is ideal but not essential, as the school provides excellent training.
- Experience working in a school environment or within a role for helping those with both learning and physical difficulties.
- Have excellent communication and listening skills.
This is an opportunity to pursue an extremely rewarding career, enabling you to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people, and for the right candidate, could lead a permanent position.
If you are interested in this position, please call Anna on 02380836648 or email your current CV and covering letter.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
