1:1 Teaching Assistant – Cambridge
If you have experience supporting pupils as a teaching assistant in Primary, Secondary or in SEN schools and are looking for a position that will compliment and reward your skillset – this role may be of interest to you.
An OFSTED graded ‘Good’ Primary school located in Cambridge are looking for a Teaching Assistant to take on a 1:1 supporting role in a year 4 class. The role will be to provide additional support to a pupil with an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) in place and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
The role is fulltime; 8:30 – 3:30 working on a 1:1 basis and has the potential to last until the end of the academic year. In your role, you will be expected to monitor and assess the progress of pupil and assist in their progression through learning. You will also need to offer general support and aid in the overall running of the class alongside the class teacher.
Ideal candidate:
- Prior Teaching Assistant Experience, preferably with Primary aged pupils
- Experience with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- Qualified and Unqualified Teaching Assistants both welcome
- Have completed or would like to complete relevant training such as: Prevent Training, Safeguarding, Child Protection
- Knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum
- Experience using positive behaviour techniques
