1:1 Support Worker / Teaching Assistant

Skelmersdale
£14.25 - £15.00 per hour
Full-Time & Part-Time Positions Available
Start ASAP (subject to satisfactory vetting and compliance checks)

We are seeking caring, resilient, and enthusiastic individuals to support pupils on a 1:1 basis within a specialist educational setting. The school supports children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and additional behavioural needs, so experience working with vulnerable individuals is highly desirable.

The Role:

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support to pupils throughout the school day.
  • Supporting students with their learning, emotional regulation, and social development.
  • Building positive, trusting relationships with children who may display challenging behaviours.
  • Working closely with teachers and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and engagement in education.

Requirements:

✅ Experience working within SEN, education, care, support work, residential care, or similar settings.
✅ Experience supporting individuals with additional needs and/or challenging behaviours.
✅ A patient, nurturing, and resilient approach.
✅ Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
✅ Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to the needs of pupils.
