Teaching Personnel is looking for a dedicated, compassionate, and enthusiastic individual to join us as a 1:1 Support Assistant in primary schools across the Vale of Glamorgan.


No Formal Experience? No Problem!

If you have experience working with children—whether through sports coaching, caregiving, babysitting, or volunteering—we’d love to hear from you!


About the Role:

As a 1:1 Support Assistant, you’ll be working closely with a pupil who may have additional learning needs such as Autism, ADHD, ADD, Down Syndrome, or Dyslexia. You’ll play a vital part in their educational journey by offering consistent, compassionate support.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 support to a pupil in the classroom and during daily activities

Foster a safe, engaging, and encouraging learning environment

Build a strong, trusting relationship with the pupil

Deliver constructive and supportive feedback

Promote a child-led approach to learning

Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour, including removing the pupil from triggering situations when necessary

Working Hours:
Monday – Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm
Based in a primary school within the Vale of Glamorgan

Competitive pay – £12.90 per hour, paid weekly via PAYE (no timesheets required!)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
