Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant for Year 2
A primary school in Wavertree (L15) is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for Year 2 to work one-on-one with a child with special educational needs (SEN).
Job Description:
In this role, you will provide personalized support to a child diagnosed with autism. The child currently receives support outside of the classroom, and your role will involve familiarizing yourself with existing support plans designed to facilitate their smooth integration into the classroom during the summer term. This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, starting in October 2023, with working hours from 8:45 am to 3:15 pm. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the school's SENCO to ensure the child receives adequate support, and effective communication with the child's parents is essential. Competitive hourly pay at £11.85 is offered for this role.
Ideal Candidate:
Desirable qualifications for this position include prior experience working with SEN students, particularly in managing challenging behaviours. The successful candidate should also demonstrate a willingness to acquire new skills through the school's Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program. Adaptability in providing one-on-one support to the child is crucial, and possessing an open-minded, supportive, and understanding attitude towards Special Educational Needs is preferred.
