Year 4 SEN Teaching Assistant – January 2026 Start
Location: Blackburn
Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:45am – 3:30pm)
Pay Rate: £13.75 per hour
Duration: Until July 2026
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Blackburn. This full-time role will involve supporting a Year 4 pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring they have the tailored support needed to thrive both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for a child with SEN.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering adaptive learning strategies.
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
- Help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience supporting children with SEN in a primary school setting is desirable but not essential.
- Candidates with backgrounds in support work, behaviour management, SEMH support, or care work are strongly encouraged to apply – your skills are highly transferable!
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting children’s needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
