Position: Youth Behaviour Support Assistant
Location: Milton Keynes, MK8
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Do you have a passion for making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people? Are you resilient and experienced in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges? We are seeking a committed Youth Behaviour Support Assistant to join our specialist provision in Milton Keynes, providing essential support to students with SEMH needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer tailored support to students, helping them engage in learning and personal development.
  • Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours using a calm, proactive approach.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and other professionals to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Assist in creating and implementing individual behaviour support plans and interventions.
  • Build positive relationships with students, serving as a role model and mentor.

Requirements:

  • Resilience, patience, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
  • A valid DBS on the update service (essential).
  • Relevant experience in youth services, support work, probation, police, prison services, or similar fields (desirable).
  • A strong understanding of SEMH and effective strategies to support young people.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
