Year 6 Teaching Assistant – Full Academic Year
Full-Time, Ashton in Makerfield (September Start)
We are seeking an experienced and confident Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated Year 6 team for the full academic year from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils during a crucial stage of their primary education, with a strong focus on preparation for SATs.
The successful candidate will have substantial experience working within Year 6 and demonstrate a strong understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum. You will play a key role in supporting pupils academically, helping to raise attainment, and building confidence ahead of SATs assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted support in English and Maths, both in small groups and on a 1:1 basis.
- Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering interventions tailored to pupil needs.
- Support pupils with SATs preparation, including revision strategies and exam readiness.
- Help to monitor progress and provide feedback on pupil attainment.
- Foster a positive and focused learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have proven experience working in Year 6.
- Demonstrate strong subject knowledge across the KS2 curriculum.
- Be confident supporting SATs preparation and interventions.
- Show initiative, adaptability, and a proactive approach.
- Have excellent communication and behaviour management skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
