Year 5 Class Teacher (Maternity Cover)

Location: Larkhill

Contract: Fixed-term Maternity Cover

Start Date: September 2026

Salary: MPS (dependent on experience)

We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and inspiring Year 5 Class Teacher to join our friendly and supportive school community in Larkhill on a fixed-term maternity cover contract to start in September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate teacher who is committed to delivering high-quality teaching and learning, building positive relationships with pupils, and making a real difference to children's educational journey.

The Role

The successful candidate will have full teaching responsibilities, including:

  • Planning and delivering engaging, high-quality lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
  • Assessing, monitoring, and reporting on pupil progress.
  • Creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to support pupil achievement.
  • Contributing to the wider life of the school.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Has experience teaching within Key Stage 2 (Year 5 experience is desirable but not essential).
  • Has high expectations for pupil achievement and behaviour.
  • Is organised, proactive, and committed to raising standards.
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Is passionate about helping every child reach their full potential.
