Teaching Personnel is recruiting for a nurturing and patient Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 3 pupil with Autism within a welcoming primary school setting. Key Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 3 pupil with Autism
- Support learning activities both inside and outside the classroom
- Encourage confidence, engagement and independence
- Build a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support strategies
- Assist with monitoring progress and celebrating achievements
- Help maintain a calm, structured and supportive learning environment
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working with children, ideally within a school or educational setting
- Understanding of Autism and the importance of individualised support
- A nurturing, patient and empathetic approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
