Year 4 Teacher
Location: Crawley, West Sussex
Contract: Permanent or Fixed Term (subject to discussion)
Working Pattern: Full-time, Term Time
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Role Overview

  • Plan and deliver imaginative and effective lessons aligned with the National Curriculum for Year 4.
  • Use a variety of teaching approaches and resources to meet the diverse needs of pupils and encourage active participation.
  • Create a positive classroom atmosphere that promotes respect, enthusiasm, and independence.
  • Monitor and assess pupil achievement, using data and feedback to refine teaching and celebrate progress.
  • Build meaningful relationships with pupils, parents, and staff to foster a collaborative approach to education and wellbeing.
  • Contribute to school-wide projects, staff development sessions, and community initiatives.
  • Maintain an inclusive environment that values each child’s individual strengths and supports their personal growth.

Person Specification

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with solid experience teaching Key Stage 2, ideally within Year 4.
  • Knowledge of age-appropriate pedagogy and child development for pupils aged 8–9.
  • Strong ability to engage and inspire young learners with varied needs and abilities.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a proactive and reflective teaching style.
  • Dedication to safeguarding, inclusion, and maintaining high standards across the classroom and school.
  • Desire to contribute positively to the wider school community and embrace ongoing professional development.
