Primary School in Atherton – February 2026 Start
Teaching Personnel are happy to be supporting a friendly and nurturing primary school in Atherton in their search for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to begin in January 2026. This role is focused on providing tailored support to a Year 3 pupil and offers a fulfilling opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s school experience.
The Role:
- Work on a one-to-one basis with a Year 3 pupil, supporting them throughout the school day.
- Support learning within the classroom, helping the pupil access lesson content and remain focused.
- Adapt tasks and activities in line with the pupil’s needs, under the direction of the class teacher.
- Provide encouragement and reassurance to build confidence and independence.
- Support social interaction and emotional wellbeing, helping the pupil to develop positive relationships.
- Implement strategies to support behaviour and engagement where required.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Holds a DBS Certificate on the Update Service (Or be willing to apply for one).
- Has experience working with children in a primary school or similar setting.
- Is patient, understanding, and able to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
- Has a strong interest or experience in supporting pupils with additional needs.
- Can follow guidance from teaching staff while using initiative when appropriate.
- Is dependable, flexible, and committed to supporting pupil progress.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
