About the School

A well-regarded primary school located in the Everton area (L3) is seeking to appoint a General Teaching Assistant to join their Year 2 team from January 2026.

The school enjoys an excellent reputation within the local community and has been rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted. It takes pride in providing a nurturing, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where every child is encouraged to thrive.

With around 200 pupils, the school has a welcoming and close-knit atmosphere, where strong relationships between staff and pupils underpin everything they do. The curriculum is ambitious and designed to meet the needs of all learners, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

About the Role

As a General Teaching Assistant, you will support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and maintaining a positive learning environment. Your role will involve:

  • Assisting with the learning and development of pupils across the class.
  • Supporting individual and small group activities.
  • Helping to manage classroom behaviour and organisation.
  • Promoting a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.

This position would suit someone who is enthusiastic, caring, and passionate about working with children. Previous experience in Key Stage 1 (KS1) and familiarity with phonics teaching would be advantageous, though not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
