Year 2 Teacher (KS1)

Location: Primary School, Preston, Lancashire
Position: Full-Time (Monday–Friday)
Contract: Term Time Only
Pay: £130–£160 per day (inclusive of AWR following 12 weeks of service)

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher with strong Key Stage 1 (KS1) experience to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Preston, Lancashire.

This full-time, term-time-only position is ideal for a teacher who is passionate about supporting pupils in their final year of KS1, ensuring a smooth transition towards Key Stage 2. Experience in phonics and early literacy, including Read Write Inc, is essential.

The Role:

• Teaching a Year 2 class in line with the KS1 National Curriculum

• Delivering high-quality phonics and early literacy sessions following Read Write Inc

• Supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development

• Working closely with Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to maximise pupil progress

• Creating a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Proven experience teaching within Key Stage 1, ideally Year 2

• Strong understanding of KS1 assessment and curriculum expectations

• Experience delivering Read Write Inc phonics

• A positive, nurturing, and professional approach
