Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a Welsh-speaking Learning Support Assistant to work across a network of partner schools throughout Rhondda Cynon Taf. This exciting opportunity is ideal for individuals who enjoy variety, can adapt to different school environments, and are passionate about supporting pupils in their educational journey.
As this is a multi-site role, applicants must have access to their own transport and be happy travelling between schools when required.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Welsh Language Learning Support Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting pupils both academically and pastorally.
Your responsibilities may include:
✅ Delivering classroom support in Welsh-medium and bilingual settings
✅ Working with individual pupils and small intervention groups
✅ Supporting children with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
✅ Encouraging pupil participation, confidence, and engagement
✅ Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and classroom organisation
✅ Supporting positive behaviour and creating an inclusive learning environment
✅ Helping pupils overcome barriers to learning
✅ Building strong relationships with staff, pupils, and families

Who We're Looking For
We're keen to hear from candidates who:
- Speak fluent Welsh and English
- Have experience working with children or young people
- Are enthusiastic, reliable, and proactive
- Can quickly adapt to different school environments
- Are confident supporting learners with diverse needs
- Have excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Hold a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Experience in education, childcare, youth work, coaching, mentoring, care work, or community support roles is highly desirable.
Essential Requirements
To work within Welsh schools, successful applicants will need:
✔ Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
✔ Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service
✔ Two recent professional references

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
