Welsh Speakers Wanted in Pontypridd! Join Our Team Supporting Local Schools Across RCT

Are you a confident Welsh speaker looking to make a real difference in classrooms across Pontypridd and the wider RCT area?
Whether you’re an experienced educator, newly qualified, or looking to step into education for the first time — Teaching Personnel wants to hear from you!

We are growing our team of Welsh‑speaking staff to support a variety of Welsh‑medium and bilingual Primary, Secondary and SEN schools local to the Pontypridd community.


We’re Recruiting For:

✅ Welsh‑speaking Teaching Assistants (qualified & unqualified)
✅ Welsh‑medium Primary & Secondary Teachers
✅ Cover Supervisors
✅ SEN / ALN Support Staff


Where You’ll Be Working

  • Pontypridd
  • Rhondda Cynon Taff (surrounding areas)
  • Merthyr Tydfil
  • Caerphilly

Start Date: ASAP
Flexible, part‑time and full‑time roles available

What You’ll Be Doing

Depending on your role, you may:

  • Support pupils’ learning through Welsh
  • Assist with classroom activities and lesson preparation
  • Lead whole‑class sessions as a Cover Supervisor or Teacher
  • Work 1:1 with pupils with Additional Learning Needs
  • Help create a fun, engaging and Welsh‑rich environment
  • Collaborate with teachers, ALNCo’s and support teams

Who We’re Looking For

✅ Fluent Welsh speakers (spoken & written)
✅ Passionate about working with children
✅ Reliable, adaptable and enthusiastic
✅ Able to build positive relationships with staff and pupils
✅ Teachers (QTS), TAs, or those ready for their first role in education

No classroom experience?
Don’t worry — we offer full training and ongoing support.


Essential Requirements (Support Provided)

  • EWC registration
  • Enhanced DBS (Update Service preferred)
  • Two recent references
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Driving licence is beneficial but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
