Secondary Teaching Assistant – Flexible, Supportive & SEN-Focused Role

Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT)
Full-time & part-time roles available — until end of academic year
£89.38 per day (£13.75 per hour)
Start ASAP

A Secondary TA Role Where You Can Make a Real Impact

If you’re a Secondary Teaching Assistant who thrives in structured, fast-paced environments and wants to support learners without the heavy admin burden, this role is perfect for you.

You’ll work across supportive RCT secondary schools, providing classroom assistance, small‑group interventions, and 1:1 support for pupils who need it most — especially those with SEN. Every day will bring variety, purpose, and the chance to genuinely influence students’ progress and confidence.

Please note: This role is secondary-only. You must be confident and committed to working exclusively with KS3–KS4 pupils.

Why These Secondary TA Roles Stand Out

✔ Fully flexible — choose full-time or part-time
✔ Work across a range of well‑supported secondary schools
✔ Focus on supporting learning, routines, and behaviour — not admin
✔ Opportunities for long‑term roles and permanent placements
✔ A consultant who checks in regularly (no “place and forget” approach)
✔ Clear expectations, guidance, and ongoing support

Your Impact in the Classroom

In this role, you will:

  • Support teaching staff across KS3–KS4 lessons
  • Deliver small-group and 1:1 interventions
  • Provide tailored SEN support (ADHD, Autism, SEMH, etc.)
  • Reinforce behaviour routines and positive learning habits
  • Help students understand and engage with lesson content
  • Build confidence, motivation, and independence in learners
  • Contribute to a calm, productive, structured learning environment

We’re Looking For Secondary TAs Who Are:

  • Confident working only in secondary settings
  • Comfortable supporting SEN, ALN, and behaviour needs
  • Adaptable, patient, and proactive in busy classrooms
  • Clear communicators with a positive, calm presence
  • Reliable, professional, and always pupil-focused
  • Open to 1:1 and small‑group support
  • Welsh-speaking (beneficial but not essential)

Requirements (Don’t worry — we help you through them):

  • EWC Registration
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
  • Two recent references

No DBS or EWC yet? That’s fine — we’ll guide you through every step.
