Welsh-Speaking Unqualified Teaching Assistant (Possible ALN Support)
Location: Rhondda Cynon Taf
Contract: Full Time, Until the end of the academic year
Pay Rate: £89.38 per day (£13.75 per hour)
Start Date: As soon as possible

Are you a caring, enthusiastic Welsh-speaking individual looking to start or develop your career as a Teaching Assistant? We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Unqualified Teaching Assistant to work across primary settings in Rhondda Cynon Taf. Welsh language skills are essential for this role.

This position may involve supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), helping them to access learning and reach their full potential within a supportive school environment.

About the Role
• Provide classroom support across the primary age range through the medium of Welsh and English.
• Support pupils with ALN, including ASD, ADHD, and speech & language needs.
• Assist class teachers with engaging and accessible lessons and activities.
• Deliver one-to-one and small-group support to build confidence and independence.
• Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a nurturing, inclusive classroom.
• Work closely with teachers, ALNCOs, and support staff to meet individual pupil needs.

We’re looking for someone who is:
• A confident Welsh speaker (essential).
• Patient, caring, and understanding of children’s individual needs.
• Passionate about supporting children to overcome barriers to learning.
• Flexible, reliable, and comfortable working in different classroom settings.
• A strong team player with good communication skills.
• Experience working with children or in an educational setting is desirable but not essential — ideal for those looking to gain school-based experience.

Requirements
Teaching Personnel provides guidance and support in obtaining:
• Education Workforce Council (EWC) Registration
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
• References covering the last two years of employment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
