Unqualified Teacher (Cover Supervisor)

Location: Vale of Glamorgan
Pay: £110–£125 per day

Teaching Personnel are working closely with secondary schools across the Vale of Glamorgan to recruit Cover Supervisors (Unqualified Teachers) to provide short-term and long-term classroom cover.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in education, particularly those considering a future career in teaching.

The Role:

As an Unqualified Teacher (Cover Supervisor), you will:

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher

  • Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment

  • Support pupils to stay on task and engage with their work

  • Work across a range of subjects depending on school needs

No lesson planning or marking is required.

Who We’re Looking For:

We welcome applicants from a variety of backgrounds. Previous classroom experience is helpful but not essential. Experience from the following roles is highly transferable to this position:

  • Sports coaches

  • Youth workers

  • Teaching assistants

  • Tutors or mentors

  • Camp leaders or activity coordinators

  • Support workers or care roles

If you’re confident leading groups, communicating clearly, and managing behaviour in a professional setting, this role could be a great fit.

Requirements:

  • A strong presence and confidence working with young people (11–16 or 11–18)

  • Good communication and organisational skills

  • A positive, flexible, and reliable attitude

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)

  • Eligibility to work in the UK
