Location: Newport, South Wales
Pay Rate: £110-£120 per day
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Contract: Full Academic Year
⭐ About the Role
We are seeking enthusiastic and passionate Unqualified Teachers across Newport. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or individuals considering a career in education to gain valuable classroom experience.
As an Unqualified Teacher, you will be responsible for supervising classes during the short-term absence of the class teacher, ensuring pupils remain on task and engaged with the work set.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising whole classes across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials and instructions
- Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Supporting pupils with their learning and maintaining a positive learning environment
- Providing feedback to teaching staff at the end of the day
⭐Essential Requirements
- Experience supporting children or young people in a transferable setting
- Confidence managing groups of secondary-aged pupils
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A genuine interest in education and supporting young people
⭐Desirable
- Experience/qualifications working in education, youth work, coaching, mentoring, or care settings
- Graduates studying/studied core subjects, education etc.
- Experience supporting individuals with SEN, SEMH, ALN, or behavioural needs
- Welsh language skills, particularly spoken Welsh
- Experience within PRUs, alternative provision, secure units, or specialist educational settings
- Background in mental health, social care, or criminal justice environments
- Previous Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Cover Supervisor, or behaviour support experience
