Secondary Cover Supervisor – Full-Time Roles (January Start)
Location: Secondary schools across Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT)
Pay: £120 per day

Are you confident in front of a class and looking for a role that’s both rewarding and varied? We’re currently recruiting Cover Supervisors to work full-time across a range of welcoming secondary schools in the RCT area.

This role is ideal if you enjoy working with young people, want to gain valuable classroom experience, or are considering a future career in education. No two days are the same, and you’ll play a key role in keeping learning moving when teachers are absent.

About the Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll step into the classroom to supervise lessons that are already planned. Your focus will be on maintaining a calm, productive environment where students can stay on task.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising pre-set lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Creating a positive and focused learning environment
  • Taking registers and following safeguarding procedures at all times
  • Encouraging students to engage with their work

Who We’re Looking For

This role would suit someone who:

  • Has experience working with young people (schools, youth work, sports coaching, care, etc.)
  • Communicates clearly and confidently
  • Can manage behaviour calmly and consistently
  • Is happy to work across different schools in RCT
  • Has some knowledge of the secondary curriculum (helpful, but not essential)

What You’ll Need

Before starting, you’ll need:

  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
  • Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration
  • Two professional references covering the last two years

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
