Tutor – Primary, Secondary, GCSE & SEND

Location: Wellingborough & surrounding areas
Type: Flexible, Temporary with potential for longer-term work
Hours: Monday–Friday, school hours
Pay: Competitive weekly rates

About the Role

TP Tutors is recruiting experienced tutors to deliver personalised one-to-one tuition to children and young people across Wellingborough and surrounding areas.

Tuition may take place in homes, schools or alternative education settings, supporting learners with academic needs, exam preparation, SEND, Functional Skills or gaps in education.

You may work with Primary, Secondary, GCSE, Functional Skills, Alternative Provision and SEND learners.

Subjects

We welcome tutors able to teach:

English • Maths • Science • Literacy • Numeracy • Functional Skills • Primary Curriculum • GCSE Subjects • Humanities • MFL • Computing • Creative Arts • Other National Curriculum Subjects

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, personalised one-to-one lessons.
  • Plan lessons and appropriate learning resources.
  • Adapt teaching to individual needs and abilities.
  • Assess progress and provide written feedback.
  • Build learner confidence and positive relationships.
  • Communicate professionally with families, schools and other professionals.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow safeguarding procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' UK teaching or tutoring experience.
  • Experience in Primary, Secondary, GCSE, Functional Skills or SEND.
  • Strong planning, assessment, communication and behaviour-management skills.
  • A flexible, learner-centred approach.
  • Reliable ability to travel across Wellingborough and surrounding areas.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

QTS, PGCE or another recognised teaching qualification is desirable but not essential for all assignments.

SEND Experience

Experience supporting learners with ASC, ADHD, SEMH, Dyslexia, SLCN, EHCPs, SEND, Alternative Provision, School Refusal or Gaps in Education is highly desirable.

Experience with differentiation, adapting resources and re-engaging learners is particularly valued.

Location

Assignments are available throughout Wellingborough and surrounding areas, including homes, schools and alternative education settings. Tutors must be able to travel reliably during Monday–Friday school hours.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
