1:1 Tutor – Rushden

Location: Rushden, Northamptonshire
Setting: Pupil’s home or school
Hours: School hours, Monday–Friday
Role Type: 1:1 Tuition

About the Role

TP Tutors is looking for dedicated and experienced 1:1 Tutors to support pupils in the Rushden area. The successful tutor will provide personalised one-to-one tuition either in the pupil’s home or within a school setting during school hours.

This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced tutor who is passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, build confidence and achieve their educational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and personalised 1:1 tuition based on each pupil’s individual needs.
  • Plan and adapt lessons in line with the UK curriculum.
  • Support pupils with their academic development, confidence and engagement with learning.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide appropriate feedback.
  • Build positive and professional relationships with pupils, parents/carers and school staff.
  • Create a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Maintain appropriate records of sessions and pupil progress.
  • Follow all safeguarding and child-protection procedures.

About You

We are looking for tutors who:

  • Have a minimum of 2 years’ teaching or tutoring experience within the UK curriculum.
  • Have experience working with children or young people on a 1:1 basis.
  • Are patient, reliable, professional and enthusiastic about education.
  • Can adapt their teaching approach to meet individual learning needs.
  • Are confident working independently in a pupil’s home or school.
  • Are available to work during school hours.
  • Have a strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience teaching or tutoring the UK curriculum.
  • Relevant teaching, tutoring or educational experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enhanced DBS suitable for working with children, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Successful completion of references and safeguarding/compliance checks.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
