We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced LAC Tutor to provide high-quality, 1:1 tuition for Looked After Children (LAC) in the Stockton-on-Tees area. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people who require additional academic and emotional support outside of the traditional classroom setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 1:1 tuition sessions tailored to the individual learning needs of LAC pupils.

  • Support students in English, Maths, and/or Science (other subjects welcome).

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the National Curriculum.

  • Work closely with schools, carers, and the Local Authority to monitor progress.

  • Provide tuition at a location that suits the learner – this may include the home, local library, school setting, or online.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant tutoring/teaching experience.

  • Experience working with vulnerable children and young people (LAC experience preferred).

  • Strong safeguarding knowledge (you must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS).

  • Reliable, patient, and committed to supporting pupil progress.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
