Job description

Job Title: KS3 SEN Outreach Tutor

Location:

East of England, Essex, Rochford

Job Type:

Temporary, Part-Time hours

£20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Provide one-on-one tutoring to Key Stage 3 students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in English and Maths
  • Create individualised lesson plans based on students' abilities and learning styles
  • Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
  • Collaborate with teachers and parents to address students' academic challenges
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance
  • Support students in developing essential study skills

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs
  • Strong knowledge of the KS3 English and Maths curriculum
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field

Experience:

Proven experience in tutoring or teaching students with SEN

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of different learning styles and effective teaching methods
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs
  • Proficiency in using educational technology to enhance learning

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional training in Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Experience in conducting assessments and creating Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

Working Conditions:

  • Part-Time hours, flexible schedule
  • Work primarily in learners homes or local libraries
  • Potential travel within the East of England region

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
