Location: Peterborough & Nearby Areas
Contract: Flexible / Temporary, with ongoing opportunities
Hours: Monday–Friday, School Hours

Looking for flexible education work where your time and experience can have a real impact?

TP Tutors is recruiting experienced Teachers, Tutors and SEND Educators to provide tailored one-to-one tuition to children and young people across Peterborough and surrounding areas.

You'll work with learners who may need additional academic support, confidence building, exam preparation, or specialist SEND tuition. Sessions can take place in homes, schools and alternative education settings, giving you the opportunity to create a learning environment that works for each individual pupil.

What You'll Be Doing

Every learner has different needs. Your role will be to understand those needs and deliver tuition that helps them move forward.

You may be supporting pupils with:

  • Primary and Secondary curriculum
  • GCSE preparation and subject support
  • Functional Skills
  • Literacy and Numeracy
  • SEND and additional learning needs
  • Alternative Provision
  • Education gaps and re-engagement

You'll plan purposeful sessions, adapt your teaching style, monitor progress and provide useful feedback after each lesson.

Most importantly, you'll help learners develop confidence, independence and a positive attitude towards education.

Subjects We Need

We're interested in tutors who can offer one or more of:

English • Maths • Science • Literacy • Numeracy • Functional Skills • Primary • GCSE Subjects • Humanities • MFL • Computing • Creative Arts • Other National Curriculum Subjects

The Person We're Looking For

You could be a qualified teacher, experienced tutor, teaching professional or SEND specialist.

We're looking for someone who has:

  • 2+ years' UK teaching or tutoring experience
  • Experience with Primary, Secondary, GCSE, Functional Skills or SEND learners
  • Strong communication and lesson-planning skills
  • The ability to adapt quickly to individual learning needs
  • A positive and patient approach to behaviour and engagement
  • Reliable transport or travel arrangements across Peterborough
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one

QTS, PGCE or another recognised teaching qualification is desirable, but not essential.

SEND & Specialist Experience

Experience supporting learners with ASC, ADHD, SEMH, Dyslexia or SLCN would be particularly valuable.

We also welcome tutors with experience of EHCPs, Alternative Provision, home tuition or learners who have experienced disrupted education.

Where & When

Assignments are available across Peterborough and nearby communities, with tuition generally delivered during Monday–Friday school hours.

You'll need to travel reliably to the learner's home, school or allocated education setting.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
