Job Title: English and Maths KS3 Outreach SEN Tutor

Location: East of England, Essex, Chelmsford

Job Type: Temporary, Part-Time

Primary Industry: Education and Training

Salary: £20 - £30 Per hour

Job Description:

Job Duties:

  • Provide tailored English and Maths tutoring to Key Stage 3 students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in an outreach setting (learners homes or local libraries)
  • Create individualised learning plans to support students' academic progress and personal development
  • Implement engaging teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities
  • Monitor and assess students' progress regularly, adjusting teaching methods as necessary
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and support staff to ensure a holistic approach to student support

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Specialist knowledge and experience in teaching English and Maths to students with SEN
  • Strong understanding of SEN strategies and best practises

Education:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in teaching English and Maths to Key Stage 3 students with SEN

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
  • Strong organisational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional qualifications in Special Educational Needs (SEN) teaching

Working Conditions:

  • Part-Time hours, flexible schedule
  • Work primarily in an outreach setting; travelling to student homes or schools

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
