Job Title: English and Maths KS3 Outreach SEN Tutor
Location: East of England, Essex, Chelmsford
Job Type: Temporary, Part-Time
Primary Industry: Education and Training
Salary: £20 - £30 Per hour
Job Description:
Job Duties:
- Provide tailored English and Maths tutoring to Key Stage 3 students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in an outreach setting (learners homes or local libraries)
- Create individualised learning plans to support students' academic progress and personal development
- Implement engaging teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities
- Monitor and assess students' progress regularly, adjusting teaching methods as necessary
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and support staff to ensure a holistic approach to student support
Required Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Specialist knowledge and experience in teaching English and Maths to students with SEN
- Strong understanding of SEN strategies and best practises
Education:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field
Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience in teaching English and Maths to Key Stage 3 students with SEN
Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
- Strong organisational and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional qualifications in Special Educational Needs (SEN) teaching
Working Conditions:
- Part-Time hours, flexible schedule
- Work primarily in an outreach setting; travelling to student homes or schools

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
