Job description

Maths & English Tutor – Alnwick (NE66)

TP Tutors is looking for a supportive and enthusiastic tutor to work with young learners in Alnwick (NE66) who need a focused, personalised approach to their Maths and English studies.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping students who may have fallen behind, lost confidence, or require a quieter, structured learning environment. You’ll be delivering one-to-one sessions that make a real difference to their progress and wellbeing.

The work takes place face-to-face, either at the pupil’s home or at an agreed local venue during school hours.

What you’ll be doing

  • Planning and delivering tailored Maths and English sessions

  • Breaking down tricky concepts into accessible steps

  • Creating a calm, encouraging learning atmosphere

  • Monitoring and reporting progress to our team

What we’re looking for

  • Experience teaching or tutoring Maths and/or English

  • A patient, child-centred approach

  • An Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

What we offer

  • £25–£30 per hour (PAYE)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
