Job description

Trainee SEND Teaching Assistant - Thrapston

No Experience? No Problem. Your Personality is Your Best Qualification!

Are you looking for a career that actually matters? Do you have a big heart, a lot of patience, and a natural gift for connecting with people? If you’re tired of the 9-to-5 grind and want a role that leaves you feeling proud at the end of the day, we want to meet you!

We are looking for fresh, enthusiastic talent to join our partner schools in Luton and Bedfordshire. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you won’t just be staff—you’ll be a mentor, a role model, and a hero to students who need that extra bit of support to reach their full potential.

Why You’re Already Qualified

You don't need a degree in education to start. We are looking for "people people." If you have experience in any of these areas, you already have the magic ingredients we need:

  • Care and Support Work (You know how to put others first)
  • Retail or Hospitality (You’re great with people and stay calm under pressure)
  • Coaching, Youth Work, or Parenting (You know how to lead and inspire)
  • Military or Emergency Services (You’re reliable and adaptable)

Why This is the Best Move You’ll Make

  • Great Pay: Earn £89.38 – £100 per day while you learn on the job.
  • The Perfect Schedule: Monday to Friday (approx. 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM). No weekends, no late nights, and no bank holidays!
  • Real Purpose: You’ll go home every day knowing you changed a child's life.
  • Fast-Track Growth: Start as a temp and move into a permanent school contract quickly.
  • Work Locally: Forget the long commute—we have roles right here in Luton.

All We Need From You

  • A genuine heart for helping children thrive.
  • High energy and a "can-do" attitude in the classroom.
  • A valid, clear, DBS on the update service or the willingness to let us help you get one.

Important Note: Applicants must be UK residents. Recent arrivals will need a police check from their previous country of residence.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ this may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants.
We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
