Trainee Teaching Assistant – Chorley

Job Title: Trainee Teaching Assistant

Location: Chorley

Length of Role: Until July 2026, starting ASAP

Pay Rate: £13.75 per hour

Setting: Mainstream Primary School

A supportive and forward‑thinking primary school in Chorley is looking for a Trainee Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic about working with children and keen to gain practical experience in a classroom setting. The school prides itself on its nurturing environment, strong community links and commitment to developing both pupils and staff.

In this role, you will assist teachers with lesson delivery, provide targeted support to pupils who may need additional help, and contribute to creating a positive and engaging learning environment. You will help with classroom organisation, behaviour support and the preparation of teaching resources. The position offers excellent exposure to a range of teaching strategies and the chance to build confidence working with children of different ages and abilities.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate experience working with children through youth groups, care work, sports coaching or similar roles. A proactive approach, strong communication skills and a willingness to learn are key qualities for success.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
