Trainee Classroom Assistant

Location: BS13 area, Bristol
Start date: January
Pay: From £90 per day, paid weekly
Do you love working with children and want to get your foot in the door in education? A friendly, inclusive primary school in the BS13 area of Bristol is looking for a motivated Trainee Classroom Assistant to join their team this January.
This full time role is perfect for someone who has worked with children in other settings and is now ready to step into a school environment. You do not need formal qualifications, just a positive attitude, a passion for helping young learners, and some hands on experience working with children.
The role:
Assist the class teacher with delivering engaging, age appropriate activities
Support pupils one to one and in small groups, including those who may need extra help
Encourage positive behaviour and help create a calm, inclusive classroom
Help with classroom organisation, displays and basic admin tasks
Support children’s social, emotional and academic development throughout the day
Follow safeguarding procedures and report any concerns promptly
Who this role would suit:
We are especially keen to hear from people with experience in child focused roles such as:
Sports coaching for children or youth teams
After school club or holiday camp leader
Nursery or preschool assistant
Swimming instructor, dance teacher or drama leader for children
Youth group leader, scout / guide volunteer or similar roles
These backgrounds show you can manage behaviour, communicate clearly, think on your feet and build quick rapport with children.
The ideal candidate will be:

Patient, caring and enthusiastic with strong people skills
Reliable, organised and happy to muck in as part of a busy team
Eager to learn, take feedback on board and grow in the role
Confident working with children from a range of backgrounds and abilities
