Are you seeking a role where your presence, consistency, and communication skills can make a genuine difference? Do you work well in fast-paced environments and enjoy supporting young people to succeed within clear structures? If so, this could be an excellent opportunity for you.

We welcome candidates from a wide range of industries and professional backgrounds to work as Unqualified Teaching Assistants in schools across Breckland, Thetford, and the surrounding areas. Previous experience in education is not essential. What matters most is your ability to remain calm, professional, adaptable, and reliable in a school setting.

These schools support pupils with a variety of learning, social, and behavioural needs. They require adults who can follow established systems, maintain clear expectations, and contribute positively to a focused and purposeful classroom environment. Whether your background is in education, childcare, care, youth services, customer service, security, administration, retail, hospitality, logistics, the armed forces, or another people-focused industry, your transferable skills are valued.

You will work alongside teaching staff to support learning, encourage engagement, and help maintain consistency within the classroom.

Driving requirement: A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential. The role involves travelling independently between schools, sometimes at short notice, so flexibility and reliability are required.

The Role:

  • Supporting pupils with academic, emotional, and behavioural needs in structured classroom environments

  • Assisting teachers in maintaining a calm, safe, and purposeful learning atmosphere

  • Supporting learning in core subjects such as literacy and numeracy

  • Promoting positive behaviour through clear expectations, consistency, and calm communication

  • Contributing to an organised and supportive school setting

We’re Looking for Someone Who:

  • Is confident working in fast-paced school environments

  • Communicates clearly and professionally with students and staff

  • Remains calm, resilient, and solution-focused under pressure

  • Follows guidance and established behaviour strategies effectively

  • Brings a reliable, flexible, and positive approach to their work

Please note: A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential due to travel between placements.

What You’ll Receive:

  • Access to Teaching Personnel’s CPD Academy, including training and accredited development opportunities

  • Competitive weekly pay based on experience and performance

  • Simple online systems for timesheets and communication

  • Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant who understands school environments

If you’re looking to move into education from another industry, or apply your existing skills in a structured school role, apply today and help support students across Breckland, Thetford, and the surrounding areas.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
