SEN Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about helping young people overcome barriers, build confidence, and re-engage with their learning?

This is a supportive and nurturing specialist setting that works with pupils who have a range of additional needs, providing a caring environment where every child is valued, understood, and empowered to achieve their potential!

 

The Role

You’ll play a key part in providing exceptional support to students between the ages of 8-18 years old with additional needs such as:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Social Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Communication difficulties
  • Challenging behaviour

This school offers both traditional classroom environments and specialist therapeutic and vocational facilities, along with various therapeutic engagements:

  • Speech and Language Therapy
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Thrive interventions
  • Play Therapy

 

Who We Are Looking For

  • SEMH knowledge and experience (in or out of an educational setting)
  • SEND knowledge and experience (in or out of an educational setting)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to collaborate with teachers and other support staff
  • Understanding of positive behaviour support strategies

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
