Salary: £13.75 per hour

About the Role

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with teachers and pastoral teams to provide tailored support for pupils across Primary and Secondary ages. You’ll help students who may experience anxiety, low self-esteem, trauma, or other mental health challenges by:

  • Delivering 1:1 and small group interventions to boost confidence and emotional regulation
  • Supporting pupils with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and attachment difficulties
  • Using positive behaviour strategies and trauma-informed approaches
  • Creating a safe, structured environment where every child feels valued
  • Collaborating with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals to ensure holistic support

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience or strong understanding of SEMH and SEND support
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and behaviour management techniques
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
