Role: Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant (Year 7 ALN Support)

As a Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant in Newport, you will support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN / ALN) both 1:1 and in small group settings, helping them access learning and build confidence within the classroom environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing 1:1 SEN support within a Year 7 ALN class
• Supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
• Supporting pupils with ADHD and attention difficulties
• Supporting pupils with anxiety and emotional regulation needs
• Assisting pupils with mobility and physical support where required
• Delivering small-group learning interventions
• Supporting behaviour regulation and classroom engagement
• Working closely with the class teacher and SENCo

• Provide two references covering recent experience with young people
