Position: Teaching Assistant (Primary)
Location: Sandbach, Cheshire
Start Date: Monday 13th April 2026
Contract: Full-time, until the end of the Summer term
Salary: Dependent on experience and qualifications

About the Role

A supportive and friendly primary school in Sandbach is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team from Monday 13th April through to the Summer holidays.
This full-time role involves working closely with class teachers to support pupils’ learning, development, and wellbeing across the school.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering high‑quality learning across the curriculum.
• Work with individual pupils, small groups, and whole-class settings as directed.
• Provide targeted support for pupils with additional learning needs or SEND.
• Help create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
• Assist with preparing resources and materials for daily lessons.
• Support children’s social, emotional, and behavioural development.
• Supervise pupils during transitions, playtimes, and other non-classroom activities.
• Offer support with assessments by observing and recording pupil progress.
• Uphold safeguarding, health & safety, and behaviour policies at all times.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and school leaders.

Requirements

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) – desirable.
• Experience working in a primary school setting.
• Understanding of the national curriculum and effective support strategies.
• Strong communication, patience, and relationship‑building skills.
• Ability to take initiative, adapt, and respond to the needs of the class.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
