Teaching Personnel are working with a school in Doncaster, DN2, who are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their team in September.
The successful candidate will have experience supporting in upper KS2, ideally delivering interventions ahead of SATs. As the year has been quite disruptive in terms of working from home, bubbles etc. We are looking for someone with a calm and nurturing approach, who can support children to reach their full potential. Some children have fallen behind this year, with the gaps in ability widening. If you feel that you can be the positive role model these children need - please apply!
The school is based in the DN2 area of Doncaster and currently working towards 'Good'. They are part of a larger Academy, who are supporting the school to improve and make good progress. Although part of a larger academy, the school prides itself on keeping a 'family feel'. Roles and Responsibilities:
- Work with the class teacher to prepare interventions and activities to raise attainment
- Continually monitor and report children’s learning and progress – identifying areas for improvement and ensuring all children are following the typical developmental trajectory
- Running small group interventions to bridge attainment gaps
- Maintaining regular communication with parents and providing information that contributes towards pupils’ educational progression
- Create an inclusive environment where all students, including those with SEN and EAL needs are given opportunities to learn
- Support children with mental well-being and peer relationships (Thrive/ELSA/Lego Therapy)
- Be familiar with KS2 SATs expectations and how to support children in relation to SATs
Essential requirements:
- Good knowledge of English, SPaG and Maths
- Experience working in upper KS2
- Familiar with SATs in KS2
- Hold a DBS certificate registered to the Update Service (Or be willing to process a new application)
- Right to work in the UK
- Minimum of 2 references from Educational Settings

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
