Teaching Personnel are representing a school in Rotherham, S63, who are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join them on a full-time basis. The successful applicant will be happy to support across all Key Stages, as there may be an expectation to work with children from various year groups. 

This past academic year has been a challenge, with some children falling behind academically or struggling on their return into school. As part of your role, you will support children through September transition, working to promote better mental health and well-being. You will work on a 121 basis, or with small groups to complete Reading, SPaG, Phonics and Maths interventions and address any gaps in understanding. You may be expected to support children who are SEND or have SEMH/behavioural challenges. 

The school is on a journey to 'Good' and looking for someone who can be part of a team. They are part of a bigger Trust of Schools, where they can collaborate and learn best practise from others. 

Daily Rate: from GBP66.30 

September start (or as soon as possible after)

Full-time, unfortunately part-time applications cannot be accepted at this time 

Roles and Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to;

  • Support vulnerable children with September transition 
  • Work with small groups of children who need additional support with English and Maths 
  • Work 121 or with small groups of SEND children 
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and other professionals to find the best outcomes for the children 
  • Assess progress and report back to the class teacher/carers 
  • Deliver SATs interventions 
  • Lead interventions to support well-being and peer relationships (Thrive, ELSA, Lego Therapy, Nurture) 
  • Plan and deliver activities to promote phonics and reading 
  • Use positive behaviour management techniques

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
