Job: Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant

Area: Leeds LS9

Start : ASAP

Contract: Supply/Flexible – Temp to Perm Options

Cover Supervisors, Teaching Assistants and LSA’s needed for local secondary schools in LS9. I am currently recruiting for up to 4 support staff members who will work day to day supply across the two schools to help ease the pressure on the current staff members in the schools.

The main purpose of this is to help safeguard the children and staff of the school from coming in contact with too many outside sources. You will often be the lead cover in the class or be supporting the main Teacher. You cold also be tasked with working with small groups and giving individual 1:1 support.

The role of the three job descriptions will be very flexible as will many roles within the school. Each role is very similar but do have differences. Everybody will be expected to go above and beyond to ensure the students are safe but just as important, they are back to learning ways.

As a Cover Supervisor you will or could be:

  • Asked to deliver pre planned material to a full class
  • Asked to deliver pre planned material to small group or in 1:1 settings
  • Asked to help cover or assist a teacher in a classroom
  • Asked to be the only teacher in the classroom
  • Focus on keeping the students engaged
  • Focus on keeping behaviour to the school’s standards
  • Asked to work with pupils who show challenging behaviours
  • Asked to connect and support SEN students who need extra support

To be a Cover Supervisor I am looking for:

  • A recent University Graduate ideally with a Secondary subject degree
  • A current Cover Supervisor who has front of the class experience
  • A youth worker or coach who again has experience of working with children
  • A teaching Assistant looking to take the next step up
  • A behaviour Support worker looking to get more teaching experience

As a Teaching Assistant you will or could be:

  • Asked to deliver pre planned material to small group or in 1:1 settings
  • Asked to help assist a teacher in a classroom
  • Focus on keeping the students engaged
  • Focus on keeping behaviour to the school’s standards
  • Asked to work with pupils who show challenging behaviours
  • Asked to connect and support SEN students who need extra support

To be a Teaching Assistant I am looking for:

  • A recent University Graduate ideally with a Secondary subject degree

  • A behaviour Support worker looking to get more teaching experience

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
