Teaching Assistant

Location: Wirral
Contract: Full-time/Part Time - Flexible or Long Term
Start: ASAP

About the Role

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students within a secondary school environment in the Wirral. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive individual who is passionate about helping young people succeed.

You will work closely with teaching staff to support learning across KS3–KS5, assisting in a wide range of curriculum subjects and helping to create an inclusive, positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in delivering lessons across all curriculum subjects from KS3 to KS5.
  • Provide targeted support to students, including small-group and 1:1 sessions.
  • Assist in adapting learning materials and activities to meet the needs of students with SEN.
  • Help maintain a positive, supportive classroom environment and promote strong student engagement.
  • Contribute to behavioural support, progress monitoring, and general classroom organisation.

Requirements

  • Previous experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is desirable.
  • Experience working with young people in an educational setting is beneficial.
  • A patient, resilient, and compassionate approach to supporting learning.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team within a busy school environment.
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
